Whilst taking out the recycling this week and seeing the sheer volume of items in the bags, it made me consider how short a lifespan products have in their present form compared to already recycled products. Take something like a milk bottle; once you've emptied it of its contents it soon becomes redundant. You can fill it up again but many bottle these days carry warning stating that other liquids should not be poured in to them and stored in them because the chemicals in the plastic can affect the contents after an extended period of time.
It adds emphasis to the reasoning behind creating products that are reusable in their current form. Great examples of this are promotional recycled products as they are manufactured from other products or they have been made to actual degrade after a set amount of time like biodegradable carrier bags for instance. Alternatively they can be made from ecologically grown products and manufactured in ethical ways.
Recycled products have improved in quality drastically over the last few years and many products are so similar to their non-recycled counterparts that you can virtually tell no difference between them. They can also be printed in exactly the same ways as conventional products. Eco friendly products are on the rise and it's time to wake up the world and see the future for their domestic products.
